Welcome To Crossroads Bible Church!
Saturday, 12 June 2004

Welcome!

We invite you to be our guest! Feel free to come as you are. We are primarily concerned with “internal” things -- building our relationships with Jesus Christ and each other -- not “external” things --- how you look or what you wear. Because we are a relatively new church, this list should give you a feel for how we look and hope to look in the near and distant future as we grow and develop:

  • Multigenerational
  • Education from a Christian Worldview
  • Intergenerational Discipleship
  • Growth in the Spiritual Disciplines – Word, Prayer, Fellowship
  • Inspiring and Authentic Worship
  • Consistent Preaching and Teaching
  • People Who are Committed to Community Transformation and Engagement
  • Intentional Outreach
  • Authentic and Growing Relationships in Small Group Communities

This philosophy of ministry will describe how we will get there:

First, the ministry behind the pulpit is exegetical and verse-by-verse in nature. We believe this is the best and surest way of exposing the church and the unsaved to the whole counsel of God, promoting true biblical discipleship, and engaging in systematic evangelism.

Second, the music ministry is fairly simple and straightforward. Worship is given a prominent place in the service along with the preaching and teaching. The style of the music is largely contemporary with some hymns included.

Third, the services themselves are given to two primary emphases each and every week: Worship and the Word, and this pattern will be broken as little as possible.

Fourth, we consider it necessary to have healthy relationships with others in the body. We focus on Home Groups – small, reproducing communities that meet in homes throughout the week. These are what we call “Basic Christian Communities.”

Fifth, we consider it necessary to be a light in our local culture. It will be a priority from the very beginning to find ways to meet needs in the community, to disciple believers in a Christian worldview, and to find effective ways of presenting the truth and grace of the Gospel to those who live around us.
